FAQ

Get a straight answer to the questions people ask most about setup, context, Chat, integrations, meetings, privacy, and billing.

Getting started

What is Littlebird?

Littlebird is an AI assistant that builds context from the work on your screen, your meetings, and the tools you choose to connect. You can use that context to find information, draft content, prepare for meetings, plan projects, and notice patterns in your work. Meet Littlebird for a fuller introduction.

Where can I use Littlebird?

The desktop app is available for Mac and Windows. Companion apps for iOS and Android let you use Chat when you are away from your desk. Download the current version from littlebird.ai/download.

How do I get started?

Install the desktop app and follow its setup prompts. On a Mac, this includes granting the accessibility permissions Littlebird needs to understand your active window. Leave Context Awareness on while you work, then try asking about something you recently read or worked on. The quickstart guide walks through the core features.

Do I need to connect all my apps?

No. Littlebird can build context from the active window on your screen without an integration. Connecting a tool gives Littlebird deeper access to that source and may enable supported actions, such as managing calendar events or working with email.

Context Awareness

What does Littlebird see?

Littlebird reads supported text and interface elements from the active app window. It does not continuously record your screen or log your keystrokes. Read how Context Awareness works for the details.

Does Littlebird capture my other monitors?

Littlebird focuses on the active window you are using. It does not collect context from minimized or background windows, or from another monitor you are not actively using.

Can I pause Context Awareness?

Yes. Use the context status control in Littlebird to pause or resume collection. On a Mac, you can also use the Littlebird icon in the menu bar. The indicator turns gray while collection is paused.

Can I exclude an app or website?

Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy Controls to exclude apps, website domains, or categories of web content. See all of the exclusion controls.

Does Littlebird capture passwords?

Littlebird is designed to ignore password fields. Plain text that is visible elsewhere on your screen may still become part of your context, so exclude password managers and any other sensitive apps you do not want Littlebird to see.

Why is context from Google Docs incomplete?

In Google Docs, screen reader support can improve the context Littlebird receives. Open a document and press Command + Option + Z to turn it on for your Google account.

Features

What can I do in Chat?

Chat can find information from your context, help you think through a decision, and create drafts or plans. Connected integrations can also make actions available. Start with common Chat tasks.

What are Routines?

Routines are prompts that run on a schedule you choose. Use them for work you want Littlebird to prepare repeatedly, such as a morning briefing, end-of-day recap, or weekly review.

What does Meeting Notes do?

Meeting Notes transcribes a conversation and produces an editable summary with key points and action items. You can start it yourself, enable automatic recording for supported meeting apps, or join from a calendar reminder. Learn how Meeting Notes works.

Which languages does Meeting Notes support?

Meeting Notes supports 25+ languages. Language detection and exact availability can depend on your plan; compare the current options on the pricing page.

Integrations

Which integrations are available?

Littlebird offers hundreds of optional integrations across email, calendars, project management, design, developer tools, finance, and more. Open Settings → Integrations for the current list. Common connections include Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and Apple Reminders.

Can Littlebird act in a connected app?

It depends on the integration and the permissions you approve. For example, Google Calendar can manage events, and Gmail can draft or send email on your behalf. Review the permission screen before connecting a tool, and review important actions before Littlebird carries them out.

Can I connect more than one email or calendar account?

Yes. Littlebird supports multiple Gmail and Google Calendar accounts. Add another account from Settings → Integrations.

Privacy and security

Where is my data stored?

Littlebird runs on your computer and stores the context it builds in the AWS cloud. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Read Privacy and security or visit the Trust Center for more detail.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Littlebird does not use your personal data to train its models or its providers’ models, and it does not sell your data.

Can I delete my data or account?

Yes. Littlebird’s settings let you delete recent context, all stored context, or your account. If you need help, email support@littlebird.ai.

Can I use Littlebird with protected health information?

Only when you have a current Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Littlebird and HIPAA is enabled. Paying for a plan does not activate a BAA by itself.

Accept the BAA yourself in the Mac or Windows app: go to Settings → Data Controls, then follow the instructions to view and accept the BAA and enable HIPAA. Do not put protected health information into Littlebird until that is complete. Littlebird for Healthcare walks through the steps. See the Terms and Conditions for the full requirements. Also see Privacy and security.

Billing

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Go to Settings → Subscription, then select Manage Subscription to open the billing portal. Follow the subscription guide for the full steps.

Can I reactivate a canceled subscription?

Yes. Return to Settings → Subscription to choose an available plan.

Is there a student plan?

Yes. Littlebird offers student pricing for actively enrolled students. Check the pricing page for the current rate and application link.

What if the subscription controls are missing?

Email support@littlebird.ai from the address associated with your Littlebird account.

Troubleshooting and support

Littlebird is slow or using too much memory. What should I try?

Install the latest version, quit and reopen the app, and check whether other memory-heavy apps are running. If the problem continues, report it through the in-app feedback control or email support@littlebird.ai with your operating system, device model, and the steps that trigger the problem.

Why did Littlebird give me an inaccurate answer?

Like any AI system, Littlebird can produce an incomplete or incorrect response. Give it a specific question, ask it to link to the context it used, and verify important details against the original source. Use the thumbs-down control to report an answer that needs attention.

How do I request a feature or report a bug?

Use the in-app feedback control, email support@littlebird.ai, or join the Littlebird Discord community. Follow the changelog for shipped updates.
