Assistant Notes
Give Littlebird persistent memory and standing rules so it starts every conversation already knowing your preferences.
User-editable persistent memory
Littlebird remembers things across your conversations in several ways, but two of them can be directly edited by you:
Custom Instructions
Text you write in Settings → Chat → Custom Instructions. These are standing rules that apply to every conversation. Only you can edit them – they cannot be modified from chat.
Examples:
- “Always respond in Spanish”
- “Keep responses under 3 paragraphs”
- “My team uses Jira for project tracking”
Assistant Notes
Editable in Settings → Chat → Assistant Notes, or directly from chat. Littlebird can add, update, or remove items when you ask it to.
Just say things like:
- “Remember that I have two kids, two cats, and one husband”
- “From now on, call me Chief”
- “I prefer bullet points over long paragraphs”
- “Remember to cross check my todos with this Notion board”
What to save
Assistant Notes are best for important, durable facts you want Littlebird to always know – your preferences, key relationships, ongoing projects, and standing context. You don’t need to save everything you want in memory: Littlebird can already search your past conversations, screen context, and connected integrations directly. Save the things that should always be applied proactively, not recalled on demand.
What sticks and what doesn’t
Assistant Notes stay intact during periods of inactivity. If you go on vacation, everything Littlebird has learned will be waiting when you get back.
